Class Struggle Unionism reading group [Session 4]

RSVP for the Zoom link

Now is a hopeful moment for the labor movement. Unionization efforts are getting media attention, capturing the public’s imagination, and extending what is possible. Join Worcester DSA’s reading group to learn about the class struggle framework for union organizing and class struggle tactics.

This action-oriented reading group will discuss the key theoretical and practical takeaways from Class Struggle Unionism by Joe Burns. We will discuss talking about these concepts with friends and co-workers and develop plans for implementing these ideas in our unionization efforts.

The reading group will meet on Zoom for four sessions:

  • Sunday, July 24, 3-4:30pm ET to discuss the introduction and Chapters 1 and 2

  • Sunday, July 31, 3-4:30pm ET to discuss Chapters 3 and 4

  • Sunday, August 7, 3-4:30pm ET to discuss Chapters 5 and 6

  • Sunday, August 14, 3-4:30pm ET to discuss Chapter 7 and the conclusion

Sign up today and then purchase the book — with a DSA discount! — directly from Haymarket Books. Reading and note taking guides will be emailed to participants. Please let us know if you cannot afford to purchase the book, and we will arrange accommodations.
