A Better World Is Possible

JOIN DSA
AND FIGHT FOR IT

With nearly 100,000 members, DSA is the country’s largest socialist organization.

On the 2024 election

Democrats said “nothing will fundamentally change” and they’d do “not a thing” different, then armed a genocide and lost worse than Hillary Clinton.

The Democratic Party is where movements go to die.

Help build an alternative in the country’s largest socialist organization!

“DSA provided so much to the nurses throughout our struggle. We can’t thank them enough for all they did for us.”

Marie Ritacco

St. Vincent Hospital nurse and MNA vice president

"We commit ourselves to each other, to the working class, and to the cause of socialism."

Our 2023 Chapter Priority

  • Worcester DSA members stand with Worcester educators outside Midland Street School.

    Labor solidarity and rank-and-file organizing

Driving local support for workers’ struggles in strategic industries like logistics, healthcare, and education.

Providing a political home for militant trade unionists in the area and deepening our relationships with local unions through collaboration on joint projects.

Aiding the efforts of groups of rank-and-file workers to organize and struggle in their workplaces and unions.

  • A DSA member holds up voting cards at DSA's 2019 National Convention.

    Political education and membership development

Improving our new member onboarding process and member engagement.

Raising the consciousness of our members with education on socialism and local working class history.

Training committed cadre in local organizing and leadership skills.

  • Two DSA members work the grill at a DSA-organized May Day cookout on the picket line during the St. Vincent nurses strike in 2021.

Groundwork for electoral agitation and socialist politics

Creating independent working class institutions to enrich workers’ lives and form a community of solidarity.

Developing structures for disciplined socialist electoral work, not liquidation into liberal reformism, backroom dealing, hero worship, or lone wolf saviorism.

Strengthening our local electoral capacity, both internal to our chapter and external with labor partners.

Our 2022 Chapter Priority

Stop the Gigification of Good Jobs

We worked with other DSA chapters to defeat the statewide gig worker ballot question, pushed by Silicon Valley billionaires who wanted to buy the law and gut protections for workers

Support Unionizing Workers

We are identifying and supporting workers in Central Mass who want to unionize, especially Starbucks workers who want to join the nationwide movement to unionize this chain

Organize on College Campuses

We are working with students and alumni to start campus YDSA chapters at colleges in Central Mass, especially focusing on organizing at public institutions like Worcester State

A large crowd of DSA members and union nurses stand side-by-side with a banner that says "Democratic Socialists of America" and another that says "Massachusetts Nurses Association"

Our 2021 Chapter Priority

Strike Support and Solidarity with the St. Vincent Nurses

We joined informational pickets before the strike, spoke at the nurses' pre-strike rally, showed up outside as they walked out, and kept mobilizing to the picket line during the strike.

DSA and its members gave over $13,000 to the strike fund

We also coordinated closely with the Massachusetts Nurses Association, National DSA, and other DSA chapters and:

  • hosted karaoke, ice cream, poetry, a May Day cookout, salsa dancing, live music, and trick-or-treating on the picket line to boost morale

  • brought North Texas DSA members to join the nurses outside Tenet Healthcare’s Dallas headquarters

  • stood by the nurses as they outlasted Tenet and won improved staffing and patient care
